Matt was born and raised in Chicago and started fishing in Northern Wisconsin with his parents and grandparents during family vacations, using a Johnson Silver Minnow and Uncle Josh Pork Frog. He began his professional career as an investigator regulating the futures and options industry at the Chicago Board of Trade, eventually leaving to pursue a full-time career as a Professional Bass Angler. Matt currently competes on the Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour, tournament winnings exceeding $750,000! With over 10 years of experience at the professional level, Matt brings a profound understanding of bass behavior to the Core Tackle team.

Jonny started his fishing career by winning the Bassmaster Casting Kids National Championship when he was 7 years old. His skill for casting quickly developed into an obsession with tournament bass fishing. After competing in over 100 tournaments before the age of 18, Jonny took a break from tournaments to complete his college education and earn an MBA from the University of Arkansas. His lingering passion for tournament fishing led him to start a YouTube channel during his MBA to teach anglers about offshore bass fishing. This led to a successful career as a YouTube influencer and co-founder of Core Tackle and the Deep Dive App. Today, Jonny is passionate about finding small innovations in existing bait designs that both catch fish and make angler’s lives easier.
